About Pricing

All panels are priced by the square foot.
Square footage is determined by calculating (Width X Height) and then dividing by 144
Example: A panel is to be fabricated for a door with a glass opening of
14-1/4” wide X 28-3/4” high. That panel would actually be fabricated ¼” smaller on the width & height due to clearances. The call in measurement to your Oak Tree rep would be to fabricate a panel measuring 14” wide X 28-1/2” high. The square footage would be as follows: 14 x 28.5 = 399 / 144 = (2.7708 sq-ft.)
This size exceeds the cut off size covered under the 1999-2000 price sheet. Which also lists a cut off in square feet (2.17)
To determine the cost of the panel simply multiply the square feet (2.7708) by the listed square foot price next to the panel description & number.

Glass Designs

All design sheets have a name & number (002-C) which indicates to us what design we are dealing with and which design to fabricate. Also listed are the names and numbers of each design which correspond to the construction of the panel, such as the unique name and sizes of bevels to be used if any.
On some sheets there is a specification that reads “Hand Foiled” “Hand Foiled Only” which denotes this particular panel design can only be fabricated using the
“Copper Foiled” method of construction. Other than this notation all panels will be constructed using a 3/16" lead cameing, which is our standard method of construction.

About Construction

Foil Finishes & Construction:

Using the copper foil construction method allows a number of design features to be incorporated. Although in most cases the square foot cost for copper foiled work will be greater, the end results reflect a more artistic panel which is greater in value or worth, and one that was produced using more labor intensive hours.
Below are listed some details involved with hand-foiling.
1. small cut pieces of glass
2. smaller radius bends
3. thinner lead lines
4. patina finishes (solder is colored with a lasting patina)
a. black finish ”The Standard” unless noted or otherwise requested
b. bright copper finish
c. antique copper finish
